The guru bead configuration on this mala is an Ancestralite nugget. Ancestralite is a combination of hematite, Tiger Eye and Red Jasper. it is excellent for physical and emotional strength and helps you connect to the power of your ancestral line.

Traditional Use of Malas
Malas come from ancient Eastern religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism. They are used to count mantras so that you are not disturbed by keeping track and sink deeper into the practice.
108 is a sacred number that has been used for thousands of years by different cultures across the globe who couldn't possibly have been in contact with one another. 108 is said to represent the wholeness of the universe.
The mala is held in the right hand between the thumb and index finger and a bead is pulled through for each mantra recitation until a full circuit has been completed.
